How We Handle A Biohazard Job
Flow State Restoration follows proven protocols for biohazard work in Gilbert.
Step 1: Walk with full gear
Full PPE before we walk in. First thing on site is assessing the scope and setting up containment so nothing tracks into the rest of the property. We talk with whoever’s there, families or property managers, walk them through what’s about to happen. Answer questions.
Step 2: Document everything
Photos, measurements, scope of contamination, affected materials. For crime scenes we coordinate with the investigating agency about what’s been processed and released. Documentation goes into the insurance file. Also into the crime victim assistance application if there’s one going in.
Step 3: Remove contaminated materials
Porous materials that absorbed contamination come out. Bagged on site as regulated medical waste. We’re careful and methodical.
Step 4: Decontaminate
We use EPA registered disinfectants. After that we fog the whole area with antimicrobial to hit surfaces we can’t see directly. ATP testing verifies things are actually decontaminated, not just looking clean.
Step 5: Remove the smell
Decomposition odor. Smoke smell from intentional fires. Ammonia from animal waste in hoarding situations. We don’t mask these. We remove them. Hydroxyl generators, thermal fogging, sealing of affected materials.
Step 6: Rebuild
Once contamination is removed and smell is gone, we put the property back together. We fix drywall, flooring, paint, finish. Same rebuild we do after water or fire damage.
