How We Handle An Asbestos Job
Flow State Restoration follows EPA NESHAP & Arizona ADEQ Protocols.
Step 1: Site assessment
We come out to the property and identify all suspect materials. Visual inspection of ceilings, flooring, insulation, ductwork, joint compound. Anything that could contain asbestos gets flagged for sampling.
Step 2: Sample collection
Physical samples collected with proper containment. Each one bagged, labeled, tracked through chain of custody. We pull 2 to 3 samples per material type for reliable results.
Step 3: Lab analysis
Samples go to an accredited lab. Polarized light microscopy analysis.
Step 4: Written report
You get a written report identifying which materials test positive, the concentration levels, and what needs to happen next. Insurance, contractors, and regulators all reference this report.
Step 5: Containment setup (if abatement is needed)
If material has to come out, we build containment. 6-mil poly sheeting, sealed at all penetrations. HEPA filtration units pulling negative air pressure inside the containment. Decon chamber at the entry. Nothing leaves the containment without going through that decon.
Step 6: Abatement
Workers use full PPE kit. Removal happens by hand. Wet methods to keep fibers from going airborne.
Step 7: Clearance testing
After abatement and HEPA vacuuming of the work area, air monitoring confirms fiber counts are below federal clearance limits. Independent testing in some cases depending on project scope. Containment doesn’t come down until clearance passes.
Step 8: Restoration
Once the area is cleared, we rebuild. Drywall, flooring, paint, trim, anything that came out during abatement gets put back. Same crew that handled the abatement now handles the restoration. One company through the whole project.
